LEAH GARBER'S work experience has been in education, specifically as a teacher and ulpan ( Hebrew school for immigrants ) director through the Israel Ministry of Education, where she prepared adult immigrants for their new lives in Israel by teaching them Hebrew, history, and Jewish-Israeli traditions.
Prior to joining JCC Association, Leah served as a community shlich a (Israeli emissary) in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . Leah provided an educational and cultural link between the local community and the people of Israel , staffed Partnership 2000 programs, initiated community-wide events, and taught at Israel-related seminars for teachers.
Leah holds a bachelor's degree in educational psychology and art history from Hebrew University and a finance and human resources M.B.A. from Hakirya Haakademit Institute and a general management diploma for Beit Berel Institute.
Leah was born in Jerusalem and lives in Modiin with her husband and their five daughters.
