Description: If you are considering attending the American Camp Association’s Tri-State Conference in Atlantic City in March, we hope you join us for the JCC Camps Brunch & Learn, on Thursday, March 19. This gathering of just JCC day and overnight camp professionals will provide the space for more structured small group learning focused on the needs of JCC Camps, with special guest speaker Michael Brandwein with focused content on staff training and supervision. Our goal of this morning training is to bring together as many day and overnight professionals to collaborate, learn and build relationships.
Description: Creating 21st century campers is all the buzz, but what does it actually mean? Join our conversation where we will identify which 21st century skills are most translatable to a camp environment and how JCC camps can provide a program and structure to develop these skills.
In order to bring Israel to camp, our shlichim need a place to sleep and live. While finding host families is the first obstacle, informing families on how to welcome the Israelis into the community and their homes is critical to the success of the shlichim program. This session is designed for families who are hosting shlichim this summer to discover strategies to welcome these guests into their homes and learn ways to have a meaningful experience for everyone. Camp directors are welcome to join the session as well.
Audience: camp directors and leadership, host families
Presenter: Shara Perlman, Assistant Director of Camping and Youth Engagement
