Senior Leadership Team
Stephen Hazan Arnoff
President and Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for giving overall professional leadership to JCC Association and the JCC Movement by working with the chair, officers, and board of JCC Association, along with presidents and executives of local JCCs. Represents JCC Association and JCCs to key organizations in the North American Jewish community, along with major foundations and donors. Also works directly with some communities, focusing mainly on planning and management, and issues of visioning and positioning the JCC in the community.
Executive Vice President for Strategy and Operations
Oversees the following areas: Community Consulting, Marketing and Communications, JWB, Benchmarking and Talent Management, Fitness & Membership, Aquatics, Sports & Recreation, and New Media and Social Networking as well as working closely with stakeholders internally and externally on a wide range of strategic, fiscal, operational, and programmatic opportunities.
Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer
Responsible for overseeing all of JCC Association’s financial and investment transactions and preparation of financial statements; billing and collection of member JCC dues; acquisition and deployment of technology, including computer hardware and software; office administration including document production and distribution.
Janet S. Elam
Senior VP, Community Consultation and Executive Leadership
Organizes and leads our community consulting team and manages our executive leadership programs: the Executive Leadership Seminar (ELS) and Kivinum (a leadership development program for first time executives).
Interim Director of Financial Resource Development
Directs the agency’s fundraising initiatives to support the annual fund and signature programs. Develops strategic plans to build and diversify JCC Association’s private revenues to maintain and strengthen programs. Provides support for the Board Financial Resource Development Committee to maximize opportunities to reach new donors and increase levels of current support.
Responsible for cash receipts and accounts payable.
Program Associate, JWB Jewish Chaplains Council
Provides administrative and program support for JWB Jewish Chaplains Council and Summer VISA Program.
Dr. David Ackerman
Director, Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Jewish Education
Leads the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Jewish Education, which helps JCCs improve their ability to be excellent venues for Jewish living and learning. Its primary focus is the Jewish and educational training and development of senior personnel, along with elevating the Judaic nature of JCCs in all program areas. The Mandel Center is funded by a generous grant from the Mandel Foundation.
Associate, Information Technology
Assists the IT manager in operating and maintaining JCC Association’s hardware and software systems. Responsible for manning the software help desk, network maintenance, operating system, and database maintenance. Additional duties include assessing staff training needs and developing appropriate training programs.

Director of JCCs of North America Biennial Convention and other major events.
Office administrator and Projects Coordinator, Israel Office
Provides administrative and program support for the JCC Israel Center and the programs they offer.
Vice-President, Health and Wellness Services | Discover @ the JCC
Consults with sports and wellness staff about programming and facilities. Oversees programs and services for health and wellness, including Discover @ the JCC, DiscoverCATCH, and Lenny Krayzelburg-JCC Swim Academy. Educational coordinator for Sports and Wellness conferences, and preferred vendor contact for sports and wellness-related vendors.
Shara Perlman Borus
Assistant Director of Camp and Youth Engagement
Main touchpoint for JCC professionals dealing with youth/teen programming. Provides leadership to JCC Day camps through consultation, conference planning and resource management. Oversees the J1 Camp Counselor VISA program.
Associate Vice-President | Director of Training and Professional Leadership
Develops and coordinates all training activities for JCC staff in the U.S. and Canada. Director of Professional Conference. Consultant to all JCC Professionals on career development and job opportunities.
Provides continual writing and editorial support for all of JCC Association’s printed materials, newsletters, website, and JCC Circle magazine. Additionally, conducts ongoing public outreach through press releases and advisories to all media on behalf of JCC Association. Assists JCC professional staff with questions regarding written communications, media and public relations, and related matters.
Production Assistant and Front Desk
Serves as liaison for mail service and other departments. Runs postage and prepares outgoing mail for pick-up. Delivers office supplies throughout the agency, inventory and mailing supplies, printing needs and all other duties as assigned.
Ido Medan David
Program Director, JCC Maccabi Israel
Implements Israel travel programs for teens, including developing educational materials and itineraries, communication with communities and camps, marketing and recruitment, logistics and supervision of trips.
Vice-President | Community Consultant, Emerging Leaders, Governance
Director of St. Paul based office of JCC Association and a primary consultant offering consultation services to JCCs. Provides assistance to JCCs in engaging emerging leaders in governance and lay leadership development. Director of Esther Leah Ritz Emerging JCC Leaders program. Works with Board Development & Assessment.
Director, Merrin Center for Teen Engagement
Responsible for the Merrin Teen Fellowship program and other teen programming initiatives managed by JCC Association.
Development and Social Media Associate
Responsible for the day to day coordination of the donor database, using social media to develop a grassroots fundraising strategy, and building a network of alumni.
Vice-President, JCC Association Israel Office
Represents the interests of JCC Association and North American JCCs in Israel and works to develop collaborative ventures with the JCC Movement’s partners in Israel. Works to make the rich public Jewishness of Israel more accessible to JCCs, to develop Israel as a Jewish educational experience, and to create opportunities for North American and Israeli community leaders, professionals, and members to build meaningful ties with one another. Coordinates partnership projects between JCCs and Israeli matnasim (community centers).
Alan S. Goldberg
Vice-President, Professional Leadership
Provides resources, programs and consultation for talent management, executive succession, professional development and human resources.
Provides primary consultation services to JCCs.
Program Director, JCC Maccabi
Direct liaison to delegation heads providing support to help our delegations grow and strengthen, manages the allotment process, oversees operations, medical, safety and security protocols. Also responsible for developing training opportunities for coaches and chaperons.
Senior Consultant for Day Camp Initiatives
The senior consultant for day camp initiatives and strategies is responsible for the development, administration, and execution of programs, initiatives and partnerships for the JCC field for day camps.
Responsible for art direction and graphic design of all JCC Association publications and print and electronic materials. Develops continental strategies to build brand identity for the JCC Movement. Conceptualizes collateral materials for JCC Association programs. Supervises artists and designers, and assists JCC professional staff with questions regarding design and related matters.
Shipping & Receiving
Services as liaison for shipping service and other departments. Tracks and maintains records of shipments. Maintains kitchen, conference rooms and all other duties as assigned.
Talent Management / Professional Leadership Associate
Manages all aspects of JCC Association Talent Management and Scholarship programs.
Provides one-on-one training, supervision, and consultation to JCCs and their schlichim.
Vice-President, Early Childhood Education and Family Engagement
Consults extensively with JCCs on exemplary practice and current research in early childhood education and family engagement, studying and role-modeling our Jewish expression of values as the core of our programs and centers.
Supervisor, Production and Facilities
Supervises all JCC Association printing and mailings; works with vendors to purchase all office supplies; oversees office repairs and maintenance; attends to tenant needs, including photocopying, printing, and mailing, and acts as the liaison with the building management.
Designs, creates, and lays out graphics for JCC Association projects and programs. Conceptualizes and illustrates designs and artwork to incorporate with the graphics.
Manager, Human Resources
Responsible for human resources administration including all aspects of payroll and payroll taxes, and coordination of all employee benefits and corporate insurance.
Director of Research, Grants and Foundations
Expands research of potential foundation grants and major donors and serves as grant writer.
Coordinator of Board Relations
Assists the president and board chair in the performance of their duties; serves as a liaison between officers and board leadership and the Association. Coordinates all meetings of the JCC Association Board of Directors.

Boarding Pass Associate, Israel Seminars
Works closely with communities to initiate, develop, and plan Israel trips for JCC membership through the JCC Boarding Pass program. Programs include develping educational materials along with overseeing logistics.
Randy Ellen Lutterman
Vice President for Arts and Culture
Director, JCC Maccabi ArtsFest
Provides support and leadership, communicating with JCCs across the continent about arts and culture programming, advising on content, growth of programs, and funding opportunities. This includes working directly with JCCs to maximize and share resources, trends and programming ideas, as well as creating signature programming and support materials for JCCs designed to further strategic and program development.
Resource Communications Manager
Responsible for the identification, collection, organization and dissemination of informational resources for JCC Association. Analyzes and presents data related to critical issues facing the JCCs. Leads organization of JCCA.me.
Coordinator, Early Engagement and Wellness Strategies
Provides administrative and program support for the Early Childhood Education and Health & Wellness departments.
Director of Benchmarking | Strategic Performance, Community Consultant
Develops and coordinates JCC Excellence: The Benchmarking Project. Presents reports and consults with JCCs based on an analysis of the data and findings gathered through the Benchmarking Project.
Serves as point person for marketing department for internal staff and external contacts. Traffics all marketing requests from start to finish.

Provides primary consultation services to JCCs. Directs all aspects of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Excellence in Leadership & Management related to organizational excellence and provides assistance to JCCs in strategic thinking. Rabbi Harold Robinson
Director, JWB Jewish Chaplains Council; Director, Armed Forces and Veterans Services
Heads JWB Jewish Chaplains Council and JCC Association Armed Forces and Veterans Services Committee. Recruits rabbis to serve in the armed forces and veterans affairs chaplaincies. Directs professional training conferences and lay leadership workshops. Advises the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs on matters of Jewish Welfare in the Armed Forces and at Veterans Hospitals. Visits US Armed Forces bases and installations worldwide.
Provides support and consultation to JCCs in all areas of marketing.
Responsible for the company’s accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.

Works with JCC Association’s 90 Jewish military lay leaders, coordinates the annual JWB conference, and is the point person for new initiatives involving the provision by JCCs of programs and services for current and returning Jewish military personnel and their families.

Provides operational support for JCC Maccabi team and delegation heads. Administers registration system and manages social media presence.

Provides consultation, support and resources to JCCs and affiliated day and resident camps.

Responsible for creating, overseeing and executing email, social media and web-based marketing initiatives to grow and engage JCC Association’s online audience.
Accounting and Benefits Associate, Front Desk
Provides support to the Finance and Administration department in the areas of accounting and benefits administration as well as general administrative assistance.
Involved in all aspects of JCC Association event planning and operations including but not limited to: Professional Conference, Biennial, Executive Leadership Seminar, webinars and other departmental training workshops.
