Finding love at JCC camp

The Hebrew month of Av is best known for the somber holiday of Tisha b’Av, but Tu b’Av, on the 15th day of the month (begins sundown Thursday, Aug. 18 and continues Friday, Aug. 19 this year) is celebrated in Israel today as a sort of Jewish Valentine’s Day, and is supposed to be a great day to get married.

Since it comes during summer, in a month when, for many of us, camp is still in session, we celebrate it—and our continuing centennial story series—with a video that begins as a camp romance at Surprise Lake in Cold Spring, New, York.
