Finding love at JCC camp

The Hebrew month of Av is best known for the somber holiday of Tisha b’Av, but Tu b’Av, on the 15^th day of the month (begins sundown Thursday, Aug. 18 and continues Friday, Aug. 19 this year) is celebrated in Israel today as a sort of Jewish Valentine’s Day, and is supposed to be a great day to get married.

Since it comes during summer, in a month when, for many of us, camp is still in session, we celebrate it—and our continuing centennial story series—with a video that begins as a camp romance at Surprise Lake in Cold Spring, New, York.
