Want a taste of culture in the heart of the big city—all with a unique, JCC spin?
Then register now for JCC Association’s fifth annual Arts and Culture Gathering on Jan. 10 from 12 – 6 p.m.
This has become one of JCC Association’s most meaningful programs for professional development in arts and culture. The event is open to all JCC arts and culture directors, assistant directors, and arts and culture program staff.
The gathering is put together annually by Randy Ellen Lutterman, JCC Association’s vice president for arts and culture and JCC Maccabi®. The day allows JCC arts and culture professionals an opportunity for those who shepherd cultural arts programming at their JCCs to focus on their own professional development as well as ways to use arts and culture to build a broader audience for the JCC.
“Our January Arts and Culture Gathering kicks off a year of engagement with this amazing group,” Lutterman says. “We’ll spend the day talking about the work, challenges, successes and our vision for the future. It’s a great opportunity to come together to share resources, and expand the way our staff professionals think about the essential work they are doing.
Last year, 48 JCC professionals attended the daylong event, which took place in JCC Association’s offices, the location for this year’s event, as well. The focus will again be on ways JCCs incorporate arts and culture into their Js, and will invite those attending to exchange ideas and network, while seeing how their work fits into the broader picture for their JCC and for their community.
“What an inspirational and thought-provoking afternoon,” says Lisa Del Sesto, cultural arts program coordinator, Bender JCC of Greater Washington, who attended last year. “ I was truly inspired to hear about the programs and ideas presented by my fellow JCC professionals. As someone who is still new to the JCC world it was such a wonderful opportunity to hear what other centers are doing and learn from their experiences.”
Each participant is responsible for making and paying for his or her own hotel arrangements. There is no additional cost for this event, which includes lunch as well as all learning materials. If you are interested in sending staff members to the January Arts and Culture Gathering, please have them register here.
