JCC Maccabi magic

IMG_6162
From the start of the opening ceremonies to the final hugs and goodbyes at departure, the JCC Maccabi Games™ and ArtFest™ was a phenomenal experience for nearly 3,400 Jewish teenagers in three locations around the United States. They played hard; created works of art; challenged themselves; gave of themselves through JCC Cares, our social action day, and connected to each other during and intense week of fun and excitement.

They came from across the United States, and included participants from Israel, Australia, Great Britain, Mexico, Panama, Poland and Canada. Their fierce applause during each opening when Team Israel entered shows how easily the JCC Maccabi experience translates to Jewish connections around the globe.

A big shout-out to our JCC Maccabi host communities— the Harry and Rose Samson Family JCC in Milwaukee, the Aaron Family JCC in Dallas, and the David Posnack JCC in Fort Lauderdale—for pulling off a wonderful set of Games this year. And we send a special kol hakavod, or “way to go,” to the Fort Lauderdale J for also hosting JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, a unique showcase for Jewish teens to display their artistic and creative talents.

You all turned the hot days of early August into transcendent ones.
