You’re gonna flip for this “Latke Recipe”

Just in time for the Festival of Lights, the Maccabeats—the a cappella group that gave birth to the viral Hanukkah song parody phenomenon—has issued a new seasonal treat: “Latke Recipe” sung to the tune of Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance.”

Shout out to Ari Lewis, marketing director for the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood, a member of the Maccabeats and our JCC tribe, for his performance. He first appears on the left, in the orange chef jacket at the five-second mark, if you want to catch him.

The Maccabeats are partnering with JCC Association to bring you a special Hanukkah gift. JCCs across the world can share some holiday music with their members in the form of a free download of a single off the group’s new holiday album, “A Maccabeats Hanukkah,” full of classic and modern Hanukkah tunes. Download one song for free—and you can purchase the entire album to be the perfect accompaniment to your Hanukkah festivities.

So, like the song says, let’s celebrate our ancestry with this latke recipe.
