Keshet is a national organization that works for full LGBTQ equality and inclusion in Jewish life. Led and supported by LGBTQ Jews and straight allies, Keshet cultivates the spirit and practice of inclusion in all parts of the Jewish community. Our work is guided by a vision of a world where all Jewish organizations and communities are strengthened by LGBTQ-inclusive policy, programming, culture and leadership, and where Jews of all sexual orientations and gender identities can live fully integrated Jewish lives. Through training, community organizing and resource development, we partner with Jewish professionals and volunteer leaders to equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to be effective agents of change.
Keshet partners with JCCs across the country to create communities and facilities that embrace LGBTQ community members. We offer training and consultation that supports JCCs in crafting inclusive programming, policies, and culture. These collaborations range from one-time engagements to more intensive partnerships such as the year-long Keshet Leadership Project, in which participating organizations receive ongoing coaching to support progress on a personalized action plan. Keshet also provides transformative programming for LGBTQ and Ally Teens through our Shabbatonim, and we help JCCs and other Jewish institutions support LGBTQ visibility and rights in their communities.
