Sharsheret, Hebrew for “chain,” is a national not-for-profit organization, that supports women and families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast and ovarian cancers, at every stage – before, during and after diagnosis. We provide free, culturally meaningful support to women across the country and partner with local organizations to provide in-person education and support. Sharsheret can 1) train JCC staff to better meet the needs of the community members concerned about, or facing, cancer, 2) assist in planning educational programs raise awareness in the general community, 3) and programs to better the lives of those facing cancer, 4) provide educational resources to display at JCCs. Sharsheret staff works with JCC staff to meet their communities’ individual needs.
