Peg Klein
Rear Adm. Peg Klein serves as the dean of Leadership and Ethics for the Naval War College and is also charged with supporting the Navy’s leader development strategy.
She completed a 35-year Navy career in March 2017. Klein’s last active duty assignment was as the secretary of defense’s advisor for military professionalism. Prior to serving in that office, Klein served as chief of staff for the Joint Staff J5 and United States Cyber Command. In 2011, she commanded an expeditionary strike group of three ships, 30 aircraft, and more than 3,300 sailors and Marines in combat operations in the Mediterranean Sea.
From 2008 through 2010, she served as director of operations for the Navy Network Warfare Command, the precursor to Fleet Cyber Command. Klein served as the 82nd commandant of midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy, responsible for 4,400 midshipmen. Klein commanded an E-6 squadron and the Navy’s nuclear command and control wing.
