Sandy Lanes has been the curriculum director/pedagogista at the JCC of Greater Washington Preschool in Rockville, Maryland for 10 years, which she has helped to transform from a traditional preschool to a Reggio-inspired program. She has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education, and has facilitated many workshops at conferences and preschools as well as taught pre-service early childhood courses at Montgomery College. As a consultant to D.C. area Jewish preschools for the past 15 years, Sandy has worked to raise the quality of teacher planning, provision, and reflection among classroom teachers. She attended the Jewish Study Institute in Reggio Emilia, Italy in 2012, and is passionately studying and thinking about the Reggio approach, day and night (she is not a great sleeper!).
