TAG: Jewish Values through JCC Camping®
Mandel Center for Jewish Education Programs
TAG: Jewish Values through JCC Camping® is a curricular initiative designed to help JCC campers and staff explore issues of daily living through a Jewish lens. TAG develops discrete Jewish content and programming units for day and resident camps, finding ways to integrate Jewish life, experience and concepts into the fabric of camp. Each activity unit has drama, discussion, games, art, music, storytelling, and Jewish text study components.
TAG is an acronym for Torah (learning and living), Avodah (service and spirituality), and Gemilut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness). According to the saying of our sages in Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Sages), these are the three principles upon which the world stands. TAG consists of over forty units, which address the weekly Torah portion, Israel, and daily life through Jewish values.
