Brian Schreiber to Join JCC Association Executive Team
President and CEO of JCC of Greater Pittsburgh to serve as special advisor to Doron Krakow
NEW YORK – JCC Association of North America is excited to announce Brian Schreiber will be joining its senior staff as special advisor to President and CEO Doron Krakow at its Manhattan headquarters. Schreiber, who is currently the president and CEO of JCC of Greater Pittsburgh, is taking on this role as part of an approved, 90-day educational sabbatical starting in November. He will use his extensive management experience and understanding of the JCC community to prepare the movement for a strategic planning process focused on advancing the future of the Jewish community centers across the country.
“I am both pleased and proud that Brian will be part of our leadership team,” said Krakow. “His long and remarkable tenure in Pittsburgh is testament to both his talent and his achievements in building one of the finest JCCs in our movement. I am deeply grateful to Jimmy Ruttenberg and the board of The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh for making this opportunity possible.”
Schreiber has spent the last 26 years in the Pittsburgh Jewish community, including 20 as president and CEO of JCC of Pittsburgh. As the longest-tenured executive of the largest metropolitan JCCs, Schreiber reports directly to a 27-member Board of Directors, has served 32,000 individuals across a variety of community services and oversees more than 900 full-time, part-time and seasonal staff.
Schreiber has made substantial financial and operational improvements to the JCC of Pittsburgh, most notably growing agency endowment funds from $1 million in 1999 to over $19 million, driving 17 consecutive years of positive operating performance and doubling revenue, and honorably representing the JCC at a city, state, and national level.
