NEW YORK — JCC Association of North America expressed its appreciation for the support of the UJA-Federation of New York during these challenging times.
Doron Krakow, President and CEO of JCC Association of North America, released the following statement today:
“JCC Association is deeply grateful for the $10 million in coronavirus aid for New York’s 22 JCCs from UJA-Federation of New York. With New York City and the surrounding area having become an epicenter of this pandemic, our JCCs have been adapting to provide the region with crucial community and human services that are needed now more than ever.
This mix of grants and interest-free loans allows JCCs to focus on getting back on their feet and enabling them to serve their communities to their maximum capacity. We are inspired by the commitment and generosity of UJA-Federation and hope that it inspires other Federations around the country to prioritize support for their JCCs. We look forward to continuing to partner actively with them to advance Jewish life in North America.”
JCC Association of North America strengthens and leads JCCs, YM-YWHAs and camps throughout North America. As the convening organization, JCC Association partners with JCCs to bring together the collective power and knowledge of the JCC Movement. JCC Association offers services and resources to increase the effectiveness of JCCs as they provide community engagement and educational, cultural, social, recreational and Jewish identity-building programs to enhance Jewish life throughout North America. By supporting the 25,000 Jewish communal professionals who connect with two million JCC participants each year—JCC Association encourages engaged lives of purpose and meaning.
