JCC Association of North America Announces Hire of Jeffrey S. Jacob for New CFAO Position
Jacob is the former CFO of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America

NEW YORKJCC Association of North America this week announced the hire of Jeffrey S. Jacob as the organization’s new chief financial administrative officer (CFAO). Jacob, who formerly served as the CFO of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, brings more than two decades of corporate and nonprofit leadership experience to the position. Jacob has a long history within nonprofits and will have the opportunity to transition into the role with the support of JCC Association’s current CFO Robert D. Kimsal who announced his retirement after more than 17 years with JCC Association and the JCC Movement earlier this year.

“We’re thrilled to have Jeff join our senior leadership team. His experience and proven track record of success, including management of HR and IT will reinforce the management structure of the agency and help propel JCC Association toward our goal of serving as an essential resource to our field and a model of leadership in the Jewish community.” said Doron Krakow, president and CEO of JCC Association of North America. “The addition of Jef to our team will be invaluable as we seek to create a stronger Jewish community, more vibrant Jewish life, and intentional and measurable outcomes.”

As CFAO, Jacob’s responsibilities will include day-to-day oversight of JCC Association’s financial administration and investments, as well as HR and legal matters. Jacob will also be tasked with conducting an internal review of the IT, HR, and finance departments, affirming and adjusting current practices to fit JCC Association’s rapidly expanding portfolio.

“I couldn’t be more excited to serve in this new role at JCC Association of North America,” said Jacob. “Our JCC Movement is strong, and, as we emerge from the pandemic, we are well positioned to share our successes and programming with a wider audience. Working in close collaboration with Doron, I am up to the challenge of supporting the backbone of JCC Association, working in concert with our staff who ensure that every part of JCC Association meets our highest standards and creates a lasting impact on all people who engage with our movement.”

In this new role, Jacob will work closely with JCC Association’s leadership teams for key programs including JCC Talent, Experience and Data, Innovation: Fundraising and Development, and JCC Association’s signature programs such as JWB Jewish Chaplains Council®, JCC Maccabi®, and JResponse®.

An active leader in the Jewish community, Jacob is currently the president of Sutton Place Synagogue in Manhattan, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
