JCC Association of North America Appoints Carrie Lipton as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
JCC Association of North America today announced the appointment of Carrie Lipton, CPA, as its new chief financial and administrative officer (CFAO), effective December 16. Lipton, the first woman to hold the role in the organization’s history, will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing vision and leadership across financial management and reporting, strategic planning, business operations, systems and technology, and human resources.
As CFAO, Lipton will partner closely with Barak Hermann, JCC Association’s president and CEO, as well as the board of directors to drive organizational strategy and ensure excellence, transparency, and accountability across all finance and operations functions. In this role, she will lead all financial activities, including accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit, and investment consultant oversight, as well as guide key operational areas such as technology, systems, and HR. She will manage a department of eight including three direct reports.
“We are delighted to welcome Carrie to JCC Association at such an important moment in our organization’s evolution,” said Barak Hermann, JCC Association president and CEO. “Her leadership, financial expertise, passion, and commitment to Jewish communal work will play a vital role in strengthening our infrastructure and positioning us for long-term success. I also want to express deep gratitude to Michael Feinstein for his outstanding service as our outgoing CFAO and for the stability, professionalism, and dedication he has brought to the organization during a period of significant transition.”
Lipton joins JCC Association most recently from The 92nd Street Y, New York, where she was vice president of finance, overseeing all financial processes for the organization. Previously, she was controller of Planned Giving and Endowments at UJA-Federation of New York, where she oversaw financial and administrative operations for the Planned Giving Division. Earlier in her career, Lipton was a controller at J.P. Morgan and a senior auditor at Ernst & Young. She brings a strong track record of financial leadership within the JCC Movement and the Jewish communal nonprofit world. Selected from a large pool of diverse candidates, Lipton brings a strong record of financial leadership within the JCC Movement and the broader Jewish nonprofit sector, from which she has a deep understanding of JCC operations including early childhood, camp, fitness, and membership models.
“I am honored to join the JCC Association team and help strengthen the financial and operational foundation that supports the incredible work happening across the JCC Movement,” said Carrie Lipton, incoming CFAO of JCC Association. “I look forward to partnering with Barak, the Board, and our dedicated team to build systems and practices that ensure stability, transparency, and long-term impact.”
