Operation Summer Camp: Supporting Military Families

operation summer camp

Overnight Jewish summer camp is the highlight of the year for countless children and young people across North America. Home to the largest Jewish overnight camp network on the continent, JCC Association of North America and JWB Jewish Chaplains Council®, with generous support from the Marcus Foundation, are proud to bring the joys and values of Jewish summer camp to Jewish children in military families beginning this summer.

Operation Summer Camp: Supporting Military Families will ensure that Jewish children in military families stationed around the world can enjoy the many pleasures and benefits of JCC summer camp:

    • A “home base” to which to return annually
    • Year-round engagement opportunities and points of connection
    • Friendships that transcend time and geography
    • The opportunity to build a strong Jewish identity and a lifelong commitment to Jewish life

Rising fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who have at least one parent currently on active duty or discharged from the U.S. armed services within the last three years are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Funds will cover the cost of up to four weeks at a JCC Movement-affiliated camp for up to three consecutive summers.
